An evening of entertainment has been planned to welcome the London 2012 Olympic torch to Nottingham on 28 June.

BBC Radio Nottingham's Big Night Out has been organised to entertain crowds leaving the torch celebrations in the Old Market Square from 19:30 BST.

Discounted offers for attractions, bars and restaurants will be available on Nottingham City Council's website .

BBC Radio Nottingham first held a Big Night Out in 2007 to encourage people of all ages to enjoy the city at night.

Presenter Andy Whittaker said: "The Big Night Out is a reminder of everything Nottingham has to offer and all you have to do is bring your family and have a great time."

The event, which has been organised with Nottingham City Council and We Are Nottingham, is part of a day of torch related activities.
