Radford shop explosion injures woman

A woman has been hurt in an explosion at a shop in Nottingham.

Emergency services were called to the store on the A610 Alfreton Road in Radford just after 11:30 BST.

Two fire engines are at the scene along with officers who specialise in hazardous materials. An investigation into the cause has begun.

The injured woman has been taken to hospital. The road has been closed and motorists advised to avoid the area.

A number of nearby houses and businesses were evacuated but the occupants were allowed to return early in the afternoon.
