Gary Cooper jailed for killing man after night out
A man who admitted killing another man by stabbing him five times after a drinking session has been jailed.
Gary Cooper, 45, had been staying with Mark Calpin at his home in Ashwell Gardens, Hyson Green, Nottingham, when the attack took place last November.
Cooper had arrived home and when Mr Calpin refused to let him in, he climbed through a kitchen window, grabbed two knives and stabbed him.
At Nottingham Crown Court he was jailed for 23 years after admitting murder.
Mr Calpin, 44, died at the Queen's Medical Centre, following the attack in the early hours of 5 November.
Cooper, of Churchside Gardens, Hyson Green, also pleaded guilty in February to three counts of ABH on other victims and was sentenced to 18 months for each charge, to run concurrently.
