Nottingham cinema shows children horror film by accident
Children as young as five were shown a horror film instead of a comedy animation at a Nottingham cinema.
Cineworld said the 15-rated Paranormal Activity 4 had accidentally been screened instead of Madagascar 3, a PG family film.
A spokesman for the cinema chain blamed a "technical error with the projector".
She could not confirm reports that children had fled the auditorium screaming, or say how much of the film was shown.
Cineworld apologised to the families involved, and said it took such matters "very seriously".
Staff said all customers affected were offered refunds and complimentary tickets.
