Clarendon Park Co-op raid: Masked gang tie up shop worker

A masked gang tied up a supermarket worker before fleeing with cash and cigarettes, Leicestershire Police has said.

The three men, who hid their faces with scarves, entered the Co-op in Clarendon Park Road, Leicester, at 06:00 GMT.

They ordered the member of staff to open the safe before leaving her restrained in the storeroom.

The 49-year-old woman managed to free herself after the robbers left and called the police.

She was not injured but has been left "extremely shaken", police said.
