Nottingham street brawl death: Seven arrested

Seven men have been arrested by detectives investigating the murder of a man in a mass street brawl in Nottingham city centre.

The fight erupted on Thurland Street at about 04:00 GMT on Sunday.

Officers said they were still looking for people who took part in the brawl.

Shops inside a cordon around the junction of Thurland Street with Lincoln Street, Pelham Street and Clumber Street were shut on Sunday while detectives searched for clues.

A police spokesperson said: "There are now seven people in custody but we believe there may have been others involved in the fight, some of whom we may not yet have traced.

"We need to speak to all those who were involved, anyone who witnessed the fight, or who has any information."

The murder victim has not yet been formally identified.
