Internet down after cable theft

More than 100 homes in west Oxfordshire are still without telephone and internet access after thieves stole over a mile of copper wire on Monday.

BT engineers said it was a complex job to repair the damage and install new cables underground in Eynsham.

They said the disruption was likely to last throughout the weekend.

It is believed the thieves stole the copper cables after climbing down a manhole in Stanton Harcourt Road. Police are appealing for witnesses.
