A man accused of murdering his former partner and her son has appeared before Oxford Crown Court.

Sally Cox, 43, and Martin Faulkner, 22, were attacked at the home they shared in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

Michael Kelly, 45, of Hatch Road, Swindon, was arrested a few hours after the bodies were found, in Mold Crescent, early on Monday.

Mr Kelly also faces one charge of causing grievous bodily harm. He will re-appear in court on 24 February.

Post-mortem tests revealed Ms Cox died from multiple head injuries "consistent with a heavy bladed instrument".

The tests revealed Mr Faulkner died as a result of multiple sharp weapons injuries.

Officers said a 19-year-old girl who was also at the house remains in Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital where her condition is improving.
