A £25,000 sculpture of an ox that stands outside Oxford United's football ground has been restored after vandals covered it in pink paint.

The bronze statue, which stands outside the Kassam Stadium, was completely covered in paint in January and daubed with the words "gotta love art".

The club said the paint had been removed in time for this weekend's game with Rotherham United.

The statue was funded by three firms and was unveiled in 2008.
