Youth arrested in connection with Oxford armed robbery


A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery on a woman in Oxford.

The woman, aged 22, was threatened by a boy with a small hammer in New Inn Hall Street, on Tuesday, at 2330 GMT.

She told police that he stole a small amount of change from her handbag then ran off when a man walked towards them.

Police arrested a boy matching the description given to them by the victim and found a hammer in his possession during a search.

The teenager was taken to St Aldates police station, where he remains in custody.
