Oxford fire crews tackle fire in terraced house

Firefighters have tackled a fire at a mid-terrace house in Oxford, where it was feared people might have been trapped inside.

Crews were called to White Way, Kidlington, in the morning.

They found a severe fire on the ground and first floor, which had shattered the windows due to the heat.

No-one was inside but two people who made their own way out were treated for breathing in smoke. Crews prevented the fire from spreading to other homes.

The cause is not thought to be suspicious but fire investigators are trying to establish the cause.

Thames Valley Police and Fire Victim Support Services from the British Red Cross also attended to help residents affected by the fire.
