Sex attacks on Southfield Road in Oxford linked

Two sex attacks in the same road in Oxford have been linked by police.

Two women, aged 19 and 20, were sexually assaulted by a man who jumped out from a bush along Southfield Road in the early hours of Thursday.

One of the victims pushed the man away and they managed to run off and get help.

In the early hours of Sunday, a 21-year-old woman was followed by a man who sexually assaulted her in the same road before she also fought him off.

The man had tried to drag her into an alleyway.

The attacker is described as oriental or Asian, in his 20s, about 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins, of slim to medium build with short black hair, possibly in tight curls.

The first victim said he had a flat nose.

Sgt Claire Storry said: "We are linking the two offences because they happened in the same street and the descriptions given by the victims are similar.

"I am appealing for witnesses who may have seen a man fitting the description or anyone acting suspiciously in the Southfield Road area around the time of the offences to come forward as soon as possible."
