Man stabbed in abdomen five times in Oxford

A man has been stabbed in the abdomen five times at an address in Oxford.

Police were called by the ambulance service to Balfour Road in Blackbird Leys on Saturday night after a 33-year-old man was attacked.

He suffered five serious stab wounds and was taken to hospital where he is in a stable but critical condition.

Det Insp Mike Lynch said: "Initial investigations show the victim may have been specifically targeted and we do not believe this is a random attack."

He added: "We have been unable to take an account from the victim yet and have no witnesses to what happened.

"I would urge anyone with any information about the incident or who saw any suspicious activity in the area to contact us."
