A crash involving two lorries on the A34 on the Oxfordshire-Berkshire border has caused severe disruption to traffic and eight-mile (13km) long queues.

The accident happened at 02:30 GMT between the turnings for West Ilsley and East Ilsley.

It caused a large fuel spillage and the road was closed southbound between the A4185 Chilton Interchange and the M4 junction 13 at Chieveley.

The closure was in place for six hours but both lanes have now reopened.
