'Brave' woman, 18, fights off sex attacker in Oxford

An 18-year-old woman who fought off a sex attacker in Oxford has been praised for her "great bravery" by police.

The victim was grabbed by the man as she was walking along Campbell Road in the city on Friday at about 18:30 BST.

The man ripped the victim's top and sexually assaulted her, before she managed to fight him off and escape.

He is described as white, 6ft 2in, of muscular build and was wearing a woolly hat, scarf, a zip-up jacket, jeans and gloves, which were all black.

Det Sgt Matt Jarman, of Thames Valley Police, said: "This was a frightening ordeal for the victim but she showed great bravery in fighting off this man."

Officers are now conducting targeted patrols of the area.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact Thames Valley Police.
