A 27-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a woman at a residential caravan park in Oxfordshire.

Stewart Dale, of Prospect Park, Horspath, is accused of murdering Jennifer Hume, aged 55, from Hamel Walk in Oxford.

A post-mortem examination showed Ms Hume died from a blunt trauma head injury. She also suffered stab wounds.

Mr Dale is being held in custody and is due to appear at Oxford Magistrates' Court on Monday.

In a short statement Ms Hume's family said: "She was a mother of three and a devoted grandmother of three.

"Her main interests were looking after her grandchildren and in her spare time she also enjoyed horse-riding."

Detectives with Thames Valley Police believe Ms Hume knew her alleged attacker and have been working to establish their precise relationship. It is understood the pair are not related.
