Abingdon Tesco worker falls through ceiling

A Tesco employee has fallen through the ceiling of one of the supermarket giant's warehouses in Oxfordshire.

The emergency services were called to Marcham Road, Abingdon, on Monday afternoon.

The injured man was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and is said to be "recovering".

Tesco, which is investigating the fall, said it took the health and safety of its staff and customers "very seriously".

In a statement, a Tesco spokesperson also wished the worker "a very speedy recovery".

Vale of White Horse District Council is also investigating.
