Man found not guilty of Oxford funeral stabbing

A 41-year-old man has been acquitted of stabbing another man at a funeral in Oxford.

The trial followed a disturbance at Greyfriars Church, on Iffley Road, on 13 November, when a 31-year-old man suffered a "superficial neck injury".

John Mongan, of Wheatley, had denied wounding with intent, an alternative charge of unlawful wounding, affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

Mr Mongan, of Middle Ground, was cleared by an Oxford Crown Court jury.
