Girl, 4, hit by car while riding bike in Oxford

A four-year-old girl hit by a car while riding her bicycle on the pavement is in hospital with serious injuries.

The girl was airlifted to hospital after the collision on Between Towns Road, Oxford just before 11:00 BST on Saturday.

She was struck by a red Hyundai as it pulled out of a car park on to the road, crossing the pavement, police said.

A force spokesman said the girl was in a "stable but serious" condition.

Witnesses are urged to come forward.
