A new leader has been appointed to West Oxfordshire District Council to succeed Sir Barry Norton.

Conservative councillor James Mills was elected at a meeting of the full council on Wednesday.

Mr Mills said: "I've got big shoes to fill. I hope to do exactly what Barry did, which is to put residents at the centre of things I do."

Sir Barry, a former election agent for the prime minister, retired for health reasons after 15 years in charge.
