A £1.2m scheme to build a new mosque in Shropshire is expected to be completed by August next year.

The Shropshire Islamic Foundation is building the mosque in King Street, Wellington, Telford.

Saleh Laher, from the foundation, said the work was going well and he was optimistic they would move into the new premises in time for the Muslims' holy month of Ramadan next year.

Facilities will include teaching areas and a book shop.
