Telford man jailed for drugs offences

A Shropshire man who admitted possessing about £80,000 worth of cocaine with intent to supply has been jailed for two years.

David Maloney, 31, of Arundel Close, Telford, admitted two offences of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.

At Shrewsbury Crown Court Judge Robert Trevor-Jones told Maloney the amount in his possession was "considerable".

But the judge told him understood he had been experiencing troubled times.

He said he took into account an early guilty plea, numerous references and the fact he was acting as a courier under difficult circumstances.
