Property hit by camper van fire in Telford

A semi-detached property was damaged after a fire spread from a camper van in Shropshire.

Crews brought the fire in Southgate, Sutton Hill, Telford, under control in about 20 minutes early on Wednesday, but the van was destroyed.

The fire caused the fascia boards [cladding] at the top of the property next to the roof space to melt.

The cause of the fire was "of doubtful origin", but an investigation was continuing, the fire service said.

It added police were investigating the cause.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, which was called at about 0545 BST, said two appliances had been sent to the scene.
