Arrest after body found in Shrewsbury flat

A body has been found in a ground-floor flat in Shropshire.

West Mercia Police started a murder inquiry after the 30-year-old man's body was found at the address in Lancaster Road, Shrewsbury, on Tuesday afternoon.

A man was arrested just over an hour later, police said.

Police said they wanted to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious at the flat from late Monday afternoon to 1345 BST on Tuesday.

The victim has not yet been formally identified and a post-mortem examination is to be carried out.

The flat in Lancaster Road remains cordoned off.
