Detectives investigating the death of a man whose body was found at a flat in Shropshire have been granted more time to question a suspect.

Police said a murder inquiry was started after Wesley Morris, 30, was found at his ground floor flat on Lancaster Road in Shrewsbury on Monday.

A 39-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder on the same day.

The flat on Lancaster Road will remain cordoned off until a forensic examination has been completed.

A post-mortem examination was being carried out later on Thursday.

Although formal identification has yet to be carried out, police have confirmed they believe the victim to be Mr Morris.

Around 30 officers will continue to make extensive inquiries into the incident.
