Dawley High Street reopens after £2m improvements

A Shropshire high street improved at a cost of about £2m has been having its official reopening.

High Street in Dawley, Telford, was opening to one-way traffic after the work, which has included creating a new bandstand and revamping car parks.

The work was part of Telford and Wrekin Council's Borough Towns Initiative.

Activities during the celebrations have included unveiling plaques on the bandstand, dance, choral and band performances and face painting.

Regeneration plans for the area were put on display during Saturday's initiative.

Contractors Birse Civils Ltd was funding the celebration day, the council has said.
