Family's tribute to Shrewsbury ambulance crash victim
The family of a driver who died in a collision with an ambulance said he was a loving father and devoted husband.
Keith Stonebanks, 50, of Upton Magna, died in the crash on the A458 near Cross Houses close to Shrewsbury on Saturday.
Mr Stonebanks leaves his wife Fiona and children Imogen, 11, and Emilia, 9.
A family spokesperson said he and his wife had been married for 20 years, adding: "The family are devastated by his loss. He will be deeply missed."
Mr Stonebanks, a software developer who ran his own business, was also a parent governor at St Lucia's Primary School, Upton Magna.
Tom Brookes, acting head teacher at the school, said: "Keith fully immersed himself in the life of the school, running after-school clubs, building the school website and recording school productions.
"He was dedicated to providing our pupils with exciting learning opportunities."
The collision happened at the Burntree crossroads at about 1045 GMT on Saturday.
Police said they believed Mr Stonebanks had driven along an unclassified road from the Condover direction towards the main road and the ambulance was travelling along the A458 towards Shrewsbury from the Much Wenlock direction.
An inquest was opened on Wednesday by the coroner for Mid and North Shropshire, Mr John Ellery, who adjourned it until next year.
