Icy conditions on Shropshire's roads
- Published
Drivers in Shropshire are facing hazardous conditions as a result of snowfalls and freezing weather.
Gritters and snow ploughs were working to improve conditions on the county's main roads and motorists were advised to only travel if necessary.
At least eight schools in the county have been closed.
The Met Office has issued a warning of severe weather for the West Midlands region, saying heavy snow was likely to fall in many areas on Saturday.
It said that ice was likely on untreated roads and pavements after the wintry showers.
Temperatures were likely to be between -2C and -8C on Friday evening and overnight.
