Man knocked unconscious in Shrewsbury attack

A man has been knocked unconscious outside a public house in Shropshire.

The victim suffered a broken nose and needed stitches for cuts on his forehead and lips following the incident in Shrewsbury.

Officers from West Mercia Police were called to Castle Foregate during the early hours of Monday.

A spokesman said the attack, outside the Rock and Fountain pub, is thought to have been carried out by a man who was out with a group of men.
