Recycling lorries out at weekend in Telford

Recycling lorries will be out in force in a Shropshire town over the weekend to make up for missed collections.

Telford and Wrekin Council said it had agreed with its contractors that collections in Telford would take place on Saturday and Sunday.

Residents whose recycling collections were missed on Thursday and Friday were urged to put out bins over the weekend.

Rubbish and recycling collections in the county have been delayed by adverse weather and the Christmas break.

But a council spokesman added collections of refuse (grey bins) were now up-to-date.
