A teenager from Shropshire has won a national competition to design a plate to commemorate the royal wedding.

Carys Marshall, from Dorrington, entered the Young Times Royal Plate competition after receiving encouragement from her grandmother.

The 14-year-old's prize was to see her design manufactured by Stoke-on-Trent-based Caverswall China, which manufactures Royal souvenirs.

Her design features English and Welsh symbols including Welsh love spoons.

The competition was organised to celebrate the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton which is set to take place on 29 April.
