Public meeting organised in Shrewsbury over cuts

Shropshire trade unionists are to hold a public meeting as the next stage of a campaign against public sector cuts.

People have been invited to have their say about what should happen next at the meeting at the Unison club at Shirehall, Shrewsbury, on 3 May.

Last month Shropshire trade unionists sent 20 coach loads of protesters to the anti-cuts demonstration in London.

In February about 1,500 people marched through Shrewsbury in a protest against cuts in local government in the county.

The meeting on 3 May is scheduled to begin at 1930 BST.
