David Nicholls denies Whitchurch samurai sword attack

A Shrewsbury man has denied attacking a man with a samurai sword in a Shropshire shopping arcade.

David Nicholls, 28, of North Street, Castlefields, pleaded not guilty to charges of unlawful wounding and possession of a bladed article.

The alleged attack took place at Watergate Arcade in Whitchurch on 27 September.

Mr Nicholls has been granted bail and is due to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court at a date yet to be set.
