Shropshire health project a 'success' after helping 300 men
A project to improve the health of men in Shropshire has been described as a "success" by one of the partners.
Telford and Wrekin Council said 300 men have taken part in Tackle Your Health which is run in conjunction with AFC Telford United and the NHS.
The scheme was launched a year ago with the emphasis on encouraging inactive men to exercise and raise awareness of health issues.
A council spokesman hoped it would "go from strength to strength during 2012".
The activities have included football training sessions and cookery mornings.
Councillor Arnold England from the Labour-led authority said: "Tackle Your Health is an excellent example of how co-operative working with key partners like NHS Telford and Wrekin and AFC Telford United can deliver tangible benefits for local people.
"The project has been a huge success already... with more and more men taking part in physical activity of some kind."
