£600,000 funding granted for Shropshire 'music education hub'

More than £600,000 of funding has been granted towards establishing a "music education hub" in Shropshire.

The Arts Council money will enable children, aged five to 18, to sing, learn an instrument and play with other students and organisations.

The hubs will be set up from August through schools, colleges and professional music organisations, Telford and Wrekin Council said.

The funding is split over three years, until 2014/15, the spokesman added.
