A man suffered serious leg injuries after jumping at least 60ft (18.2m) into a quarry in Shropshire.

The man, who was intending to swim in Shadwell Quarry, in Much Wenlock, was airlifted to hospital at about 17:25 BST.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said the man had reportedly hit the side of the quarry on the way down.
