Three more people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man's body was found in a flat in Shropshire.

The man, believed to be aged 57, was found in a first-floor flat in Old School Mews, Bridgnorth, on Thursday.

West Mercia Police said two men and a woman from the West Midlands were arrested on Saturday.

Officers have been given more time to question them, while a 30-year-old Telford woman arrested on Friday, has been released without charge.

A post-mortem examination revealed the victim, who has yet to be formally identified, died from head injuries.

Det Ch Insp Stephen Tonks, leading the murder investigation, said: "A man in his 50s from Tipton, Sandwell, a man in his 30s from Perry Barr, Birmingham, and a woman in her 20s from Aston, Birmingham, remain in police custody in connection with the 57-year-old's death.

"Detectives have been given an extra 36 hours by magistrates to question them."

Police said they wanted to talk to anyone who noticed any "suspicious activity" in the Old School Mews area last week, particularly on Wednesday evening.
