Bridgnorth murder: Three in court over Richard Sherratt death

Three people have appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court charged with the murder of a Bridgnorth man.

The body of Richard Sherratt, 57, was found at his flat in Old School Mews on 14 June.

A post-mortem examination revealed he died as a result of head injuries.

Michael Smith, 51, of Horton Road, Tipton, Paramjit Singh, 32, of Willmore Road, Perry Barr, and Emma Bate, 25, of Gladstone Street, Aston are accused of murdering him.

They have been remanded in custody to appear on 17 September.

All three defendants are also charged with robbery, while Mr Singh and Ms Bate are accused of perverting the course of justice.
