Shropshire Boycott Bridge closed for repairs

A Shropshire bridge has been closed to traffic to allow "essential" repairs to take place.

Boycott Bridge, which carries the Farley to Boycott road over the Rea Brook, near Pontesbury, is due to reopen by Friday.

Shropshire Council said diversions were in place.

Councillor Simon Jones said pedestrians and cyclists would be able to continue using the bridge throughout the repairs.

"It is appreciated that the bridge closure may cause some inconvenience, and everyone involved will do all that they reasonably can to reopen it as soon as possible," he added.
