Stabbing of man in Newport prompts arrest of teenagers

Two 19-year-old men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in Shropshire.

A man in his mid-20s was found with serious stab wounds at an address in Hallcroft Gardens, Newport, at 00:45 BST, police said.

Another 19-year-old man was arrested for aggravated burglary and a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of burglary.

The force added the victim had received surgery and his condition was not thought to be life-threatening.

Officers believe all people involved know each other.
