'Senseless death'

Tricia Nicholson said her son, known as Ben, also enjoyed busking in Shrewsbury.

"He told me he always felt very lonely and busking was his way of helping him feel less so," she said.

In a statement, the family described him as a "very loved son, brother and uncle", who "encouraged friendship wherever he went ".

They added that friends and family alike were suffering "complete shock and anger at what has happened" and were struggling to come to terms with Ben's "senseless death".

Stewart Doran, 21, from Bainbridge Green, Harlescott, Shrewsbury and Bradley Davies, 18, of no fixed abode, have been charged with his murder and are due to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Monday.
