Sherrifhales crash kills horse and injures driver and rider

A horse has been killed and two people airlifted to hospital after a collision involving a car in Shropshire, according to the ambulance service.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said they were called to the accident at Sherrifhales at 10:25 BST.

The driver of the car was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham with head and facial injuries.

The woman rider, who was knocked out, was flown to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.
