Body found in search for Bridgnorth swimmer

A man's body has been found in the River Severn in Shropshire during the search for a missing swimmer.

Damian Southall, 20, from Wombourne, Staffordshire, was last seen swimming near the old Rowing Club in Bridgnorth at about 17:30 BST on Thursday.

The body was discovered by a police diving team, close to the spot where the swimmer was last seen, at about 13:30.

Police said Mr Southall's family had been informed.
