Wellington motorcyclist badly burned in bike explosion

A man has been seriously injured in a petrol-fuelled explosion while he was working on his motorbike, West Midlands Ambulance Service has said.

It happened at Pembroke Drive in Wellington, Shropshire on Friday morning.

The 30-year-old was flown to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham suffering with approximately 10% burns, affecting his face, hands and left leg.

A land ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, and an air ambulance attended.
