Lorry driver arrested over Shrewsbury cyclist death
A 39-year-old lorry driver from south Wales has been arrested on suspicion of causing the death of a cyclist.
Michael Saunders, 61, was found dead at the side of the A49 near Shrewsbury at about 05:00 BST on Monday.
He had been cycling home to Shrewsbury from work in Church Stretton. It is thought he was hit from behind between 03:30 BST and 04:40 BST.
The lorry driver was interviewed by West Mercia Police in Wales on Wednesday, and has since been bailed.
A force spokesman said officers still want to speak to anyone who had seen Mr Saunders, who was wearing a fluorescent jacket, before the crash, as well as to anyone travelling along that stretch of road between 03:00 and 05:00 BST.
