Seven potential sites announced for Yeovil Sports Zone

Seven sites in a Somerset town have been shortlisted as possible places to build a multi-million pound sports complex.

One of the seven locations for the £21m Yeovil Sports Zone was originally turned down in 2009 by the council after concerns over its suitability.

Proposals for the facility include a 50m swimming pool, gym, indoor tennis centre and climbing centre.

Plans are on show this weekend at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil.

The potential sites are Brimsmore Key Site, Bunford, Keyford, land adjacent to Garador, land to the east of Huish Park, Yeovil recreation ground (Mudford Rec) and Yeovil Showground.
