One cut free from car in crash on M5 in Somerset

One person has been taken to hospital after being cut free from a car, which was involved in a multi-vehicle crash on the M5 in Somerset.

The emergency services were called to the scene of the collision near junction 27, the Tiverton turnoff, on Thursday night.

The accident blocked the two outer lanes of the southbound carriageway.

The motorway was closed for a number of hours while the air ambulance landed to take the casualty to hospital.
