Somerset wind farm plans on show to public

The public are being asked their views on plans to build a wind farm near Puriton in Somerset.

EDF Energy Renewables is holding a series of public exhibitions to provide more information about the project at Withy Farm.

The company hopes to build nine turbines, which can power 10,000 homes a year.

The first exhibition is being held at Puriton Village Hall from 1100 until 1900 BST on Monday.

Dennis Garry, the project's development manager, said: "We have gathered an extensive amount of information on the site already and this consultation will also form an integral part of our preliminary investigations for this project."

The consultation will run until 20 August with further exhibitions at East Huntspill, Burham-on-Sea and Bridgwater.
