Resurfacing of M5 in Somerset set to begin

Resurfacing works on part of the M5 through Somerset start in September and is expected to last a month.

There will be lane closures and 50mph restrictions while the work is carried out on a four-mile section of the motorway between junctions 22 and 21.

Work will be carried out overnight, between 1900 BST and 0700 BST, from 6 September until 8 October.

At the same time the Highways Agency will replace the safety barrier and repair the drains.
