Cheddar scout group in danger of closing

A Somerset scout group is in danger of closing if it cannot find a new leader.
The 1st Cheddar Scout Group, which celebrated its 100th birthday this year, is appealing for volunteers for various roles.
Graham Burnell, the group's chairman, said: "If we don't find a new leader, we should continue with the junior sections, the beavers and the cubs.
"But when the cubs become ready to go up to scouts, there will be no scout group."
The group also needs volunteers to help with accounts, gardening and maintenance.
"The movement is growing all the time but without leadership it won't be able to grow," Mr Burnell added.
